I’ve not heard much buzz about this piece, Darleen O’Steen’s Celtic Sampler – Wallace. I saw it on the Attic Needlework Newsletter on Thursday and have yet to see it anywhere else on the net. I think it is beautiful. I really like the centre block with the acorns. According to Jean (Attic Needlework) there will be a companion piece, Celtic Sampler – Robertson.

And here is one of the new JBW designs – English Plum Pudding – I love all her new releases (not on the JBW site yet, but I have seen them on the ABC Stitch Therapy site and on the Stitching Bits and Bobs site).

I went over to Janine’s yesterday to pick up the new Just Nan’s (I love Blitzen Glistens – his frame is gorgeous!) You might be interested to know she has a sale on right now… 15% off till the end of September (correction: End of October). I brought home a mighty pile of stash (though for me I was reasonably controlled).
So what did I get?
- Blitzen Glistens chart and frame / Just Nan
- Over the top and in the tin – Boo! / Just Nan
- Ladybug Santa / Just Nan
- Lavender Angel / Just Nan
- 14 Weeks Dye Works threads
- 2 Crescent Colors threads
- 2 Crescent Colors Belle Soie
I was so inspired I went home and made a start on The Primitive Needle’s Hallow Sampler. Not much to see yet, I will share a picture later. I hope you are all having a nice weekend, happy stitching!
OMG…..
I must have that Darleen o Steen chart…
i hope janine can find it for us.. i assume you asked her??
i mean has a piece ever screamed fudgey more??
you know i think itis good that you an djanine live on the other side of the country with a big lump of water and desert between us..
very controlled stashing too i must say..
so far i have only bought cirque de triangles and some more no 28 piecmakers but i get paid again on wednesday……
and i had spent a heap the week before the sale … so
I, for one, had NOT seen the Darlene O’Steen pattern. It’s positively gorgeous!
That’s an impressive stash you bought. I just love those two designs, especially the celtic sampler one. I just wonder where you could purchase this one.
Love the Darlene O’Steen chart and the JBW is very cute! Definitely ones to add to the wish list!! Nice stash list there too Cathy!!
Yep I am sure I can get it. It is gorgeous. The Darlene O Steen Sampler that is. The sale is on until the end of October. We have humungous amounts of stock bursting out of every nook and cranny. I need to get it under control and we have heaps and heaps to add onto the site. I am sure there will be some new buys as well. It was a lovely few hours with Cathy. My old Dad came for a visit and Cathy said I was a bad daughter for enabling her and Dad wanted to know why we don’t get sick of cross stitch and cross stitch talk. Then he said something about knitting as a lot of men call it. Sheesh….and I said well what about you and sport. Don’t you get sick of talking and watching it. LOL I love my old Dad and I am so lucky he lives only 5 houses away.

Oh no! I love that sampler – it’s gorgeous! Very tempting – must not buy! LOL
Oh my, that is a wonderful sampler!!
Wow, Darleen O’Steen is insane. That’s so incredibly full and gorgeous!
Phew, I think I’m the only one who actually doesn’t like the sampler … which is good ‘cos I get to keep my wishlist under control haha … however … I DO adore the plum pudding one and of course MUST have that one – oh well, 1 out of 2 for the wishlist isn’t too bad is it? LOL.
I’m heading over to Perth possibly for the last time at the start of next May for the next CA Wells class – will have to organise a visit to meet up finally
(Of course, if you’re coming to Sydney for the GTG I will see you there too!)
I love the new JBW designs too and the Hallow Sampler is great. Happy Stitching, CJ(ok;-)
