Booking Through Thursday – The Dinner Party

Today’s questions brought to us by Nicki, who has come up with a ton of fun ideas, this being the first that struck me.

  1. Which 3 authors would you invite to a dinner party (they can be dead)? Terry Pratchett, Margaret Atwood and Elizabeth Peters
  2. Why? They are my all-time favourites!
  3. Would they get along? I’m not sure, they write pretty differently and yet they must have something in common or I probably wouldn’t enjoy them (logic is not my strong point!) Terry’s Discworld books are comic fantasy/fractured fairytale type books. Margaret does literature – my favourites being The Robber Bride and Cat’s Eye and Elizabeth does the wonderful Ameila Peabody stories that have a comic element but are interesting for the strong women characters and discussion of Egyptology. I think we’d have a nice evening together, but as I am an awful cook they’d have to bring a plate!

Socks for Dr K (yarn is: Homespun House plump bfl; “Hagrid’s Hut”). Heel increases done - now to turn the heel. Oh, and the pattern is: Vanilla is the new black.
Rapidly coming to the conclusion that I may have to actually read the Life Changing Magic of Tidying up instead of just downloading it. There’s no room in my little nook for anything else and whilst it is all lovely - there’s no order here (this for a librarian is very hard to admit!) I have a week off in May - I’ll make a start then.
Working on my #soulcraftalong WIP - Weekender by Andrea Mowry using BWM recycled yarn (pickled up in the back room two years ago when I went to Bendigo Sheep and wool). I’m a third done with the body. I wish I had more time to knit-I really hope to be done in time for the festival!
Yes, I bought this shirt to match my Veronika Cardigan 💜(Knit with Plucky Scholar: Sweet Nothings). We’re visiting family in the country and it’s chilly enough to get out the woolies! #pluckyselfie
Tripitaka amongst my project bags. #cats #knitting
I’ve been not so secretly doing Weightwatchers with some lovely work friends. I received this trinket today to mark losing 10% of my original weight. Feels so good meeting a goal and taking better care of myself.
Druthers shawl finally on the needles! This is the “Oh so cheeky” combo - starting with the “cheeky” colourway (Plucky sophisticate held double) #dailyplucky
I made a super-pretty reversible bag at my sewing class today! 😍 #sewforlifeperth
Inspiration pile o’ books ready to put back on my shelves (I need to use my desk!)
