Kelso Christmas Tree Stitching and Beading completed

Kelso Christmas Tree by M Designs

Just after we got married, Mary from M Designs started designing personalised name trees.  I got in touch with Mary with my new surname and after a short while she sent me this chart which I popped into my stash and forgot about.

Fast forward to this year and I decided it was finally time to stitch this for my lovely in-laws who I know will truly love this piece.  Last year when we were all gathered together they pulled out the ornies I had stitched for them when I was just Joel’s girlfriend (and trying to impress them) and gently requested more stitched ornaments in such a sweet way I could not refuse them.

So, this piece is stitched on a pretty piece of anonymous hand-dyed light blue luguna (25ct) with Tapestry green silk by The Threadgatherer with magnifica beads and a rather nice star charm I found around the traps (which is just perfect for this piece).

We are off to Tasmania for 5 nights on Wednesday for a little break.  It’s been a long time since we had a holiday so we are really looking forward to it.  I’m taking along Mary Thompson’s Quaker to work on if I have time.  If we have an internet connection, you may hear from me whilst I am away. If not, till then, Happy Stitching everyone.

PS. I ordered the Halloween Flip-its.

Also if you want to see it turned around to read the name, click here. (A wip photo I took on Friday night and then didn’t post).
